Directors
Bob Bertucci, Director, is known and respected both
nationally and internationally with more than 26 years of coaching
and teaching
experience in volleyball. Bob is currently the head women's coach
at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa. He has also served
as
head coach at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, the
University of Tennessee and the U.S. Military Academy at West
Point. In addition to his collegiate coaching, Bob is currently
working with the U. S. National Program coaching, conducting
tryouts
and scouting. He has coached the 1999 U.S. Women's World University
Games team in Spain; 1985 Women's World University Games team
in Kobe, Japan; two U.S. Olympic Festivals and the U.S. Women's
Junior National Team. He has just been named Atlantic 10 Coach
of the Year for 2002 as well as in 1997 and 1999. He was
also selected in 1988, '90 and '92 as the E.I.V.A. Coach of
the
Year and the 1984 Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year.
Bob's teams have made 12 NCAA appearances, including a trip
to the Final
Four in 1990, and have won 10 conference championships, the most
recent being the 2002 Atlantic 10 Regular Season championship
and the 2002 Conference tournament championship. He has
developed and coached eight All-Americans, 46 All-Conference
athletes
and has authored more than a half-dozen books and videos on the
sport of volleyball.
Tina Bertucci, Associate Camp Director, is currently
consulting for high school and junior programs throughout New
Jersey and the New York metropolitan area. She has held coaching
positions at the University of Tennessee, Rutgers University and
Temple University. As a player, she has competed collegiately
in NCAA Division I and internationally on the USA East Zone Team
against the National Teams from China, Sweden, Finland, Canada
and Puerto Rico. Since 1975, Tina has been a member of USA Volleyball
and continues to promote, develop and teach the sport of volleyball
nationally.
Mario Treibitch, Northeast Camp Director, has recently
joined the staff in this new capacity. Mario brings a wealth of
experience to the camps. He has been Head or Assistant Coach of
National Teams in Holland, Israel, the United States and Puerto
Rico. Two of these teams won Olympic Silver Medals. His teams
have also been successful in the European Cup, World Championships,
Jr. World Championships, Pan American Games and his collegiate
teams have made two NCAA Men's Final Four appearances. Currently
Mario is assisting at St. John's University in New York.
Coordinator
Jeff Lipton
Camp Coordinator, is in his second season as women's head coach
at Adelphi University. He previously spent seven seasons at the
Merchant Marine Academy, five as head coach. Under Jeff, the Mariners
received a top 15 rating in the 1999 AVCA national poll. He is
CAP certified by USA Volleyball, as well as being a certified
personal trainer. He also spent three years at Hunter College
as head women's coach, where he won three conference championships.
As well as his duties at Adelphi, Jeff is a professor of music
and chairman of the music department at Five Towns College in
Dix Hills, N.Y.
